Currently, I have been working on mushroom encaustic paintings. Here is my newest encaustic painting, accompanied by a poem I wrote specifically for the painting.

"A Slight Silver Entanglement"
“A Slight Silver Entanglement”
A monochrome moment, A ghost of cream whites and tender gills Rough sepia of decaying wood. She claws beneath, The hard-worn surface to find, A root system that runs for miles. Intricate and ancient Networks that share her land, She weaves a silver spell For her newly planted Entanglements. She paints the mushroom’s value For they will create new soil. Her mushrooms whisper to the land, Guarding the border from any threat. The artist listens, and the shield is set. Balancing light and dark, Christin |
